The most popular way of credit fraud — is using invalid documents for identity confirmation. Fraudsters can use lost or stolen documents, documents of deceased persons or canceled documents.
You can identify the use of such a document, by checking the existence of the corresponding record in the following registers:
- the register of stolen/lost passports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
- the registers of invalid passports of the State Migration Service of Ukraine,
- the register of lost passport of the Ukrainian Bureau of Credit Histories (UBCH).
A request to the identity verification service of the Ukrainian Bureau of Credit Histories, allows you to check a passport against all the above-mentioned registers.
The following document types will be checked:
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine,
- ID passport,
- travel passport,
- biometric passport,
- crew member identity.
The service does not provide legal confirmation of the validity of the document, and cannot guarantee its authenticity, however it reports the document as being compromised, if it is present in any of the registers.
